Day 23 continued

So in my last entry I talked about last night but didn't actually say anything about today.

It was busy!

We started the day by going to the Musum of Natural History with my cousin Markus and his friends Joanne and Dominic. It was alot bigger than I anticipated. Their gem section was amazing especially since I love shinys so much!

Day 23

First official day in LA.

Last night after I arrived we had an amazing dinner and then 3 out of the 4 cousins I haven't met came over.

We all went to Hollywood boulevard and I took heaps of photos of the stars along the street. I saw the scariest Michael Jackson impersonator ever. I was too scared to take a photo. He looked like the black ( Read more... )

Day 22

Had the last breakfast at the gorgeous b&b where we stayed. As per usual, our host Leanne prepared far too much but it was perfect. Highly recommend that place for sure!

Had brunch with the gang before parting ways at the airport. Annie went home, Nikki is staying a little longer before heading to NYC and I have just touched down in LAX. Just ( Read more... )

Day 21

So last day in Seattle was today. We woke up early and headed down to the pike st markets. Yay!

I purchased some shinys, ate a red pear and bought a giant pomegranite!

After the markets we went to the aquarium which was the beat aquarium I have been to yet. It had a sea bird enclosure, otters, a disgusting giant octopus and a heap of tropical ( Read more... )

Day 20 cont

I forgot to say that they have avalanche control by blowing up the snow on the mountain! When we first arrived this morning, all the slopes were on standby. The air was filled with the sound of distant booming. How exciting!

Also ski slopes close at 3pm because the sun goes down an hour or so later!

Day 20

So when the alarm went off this morning I had to physically get out of bed to turn it off and my first thought was that I couldn't walk properly.

My calf muscles were so tight I was surprised I could even stand up. At this point skiing did not feel like a good idea at all.

Day 19

First day at whistler.

Hired or ski gear. Here is my first hint: when you walk, go heel toe.

Second hint: leave the buckles undone when walking as it's easier on your shins and calves.

Third hint: take the bus from blackcomb base to whistler. DO NOT walk.

So it was cold. There was snow everywhere. Snow everywhere is distracting.

Day 18

Today we are going to Whistler. The landscape is unlike anything I've seen. Except for in the movies!

The trees are capped with snow and the houses all have pointy pointy roofs. Most of the trees are completely bare except for the ones that look like Christmas trees.

Day 17

Today was overcast and cold. I was hungover and slept in till lunchtime!

When we finally woke up we went to breakfast/lunch with one of Bede's friends at an extremely popular breakfast joint. They even had a list at the door and a coffee station outside so they were obviously very accustomed to having lots of people waiting!

Day 16

Today we went to the park to watch Bede play ultimate frisbee. I didn't really understand the game but it certainly had lots of running around!

Afterwards we had brunch with the frisbee people and then headed out to do the tourist stuff.
